Pittsburgh has a hidden gem with the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Enjoy the greenest park in the area. Since 1893, the gardens have been giving its guest the experience of a lifetime. To take in all that nature has to offer. The Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is located in Oakland neighborhood, Phipps. But why do people like it so much? There are three excellent reasons and ones that will make you want to visit the gardens the next time you can.
There are many different environments to adventure through
The gardens have not just one thriving type, but many different species of plants and flowers. They are housed in a Leed certified greenhouse. When you go to explore, you will see flowers from the jungle to plants of the desert. There is something for everyone and all look brilliant. The colors are breath-taking and vibrant. With so many spectacular plant and flowers to observe, it is a great place just to have a relaxing day, and learn out where each one comes from.
The displays are always changing
Changing displays are one way the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens keeps things fresh. It means that the flowers will change and different exhibits also change throughout the year. For instance, right now there is a glass exhibit on display that has many pieces of art found through out the garden itself. This exhibition highlights the beauty of nature and the artistic expression of the glass complementing the flowers and greenery.
Incredible Hours and affordable admission
With most attractions, you will either have to pay a pretty penny for a day out or work around hours that are not exactly ideal. The Botanical Gardens are open seven days a week. They also have later hours available, even during Monday through Friday. The only days the Gardens are not open are Thanksgiving and Christmas. The cost of admission is also perfect for families, and kids under 2 are free.
